Toronto-based singer-songwriter Jewel mdt combines intricate lyricism with experimental acoustic instrumentation to create melancholic pop songs. Drawing inspiration from artists like Mitski, Taylor Swift, Cody Fry, and JVKE, her music blends orchestral and alternative elements. In the summer of 2021, Jewel was recognized as an Emerging Artist by the Canadian Musicians Co-operative, performing online and showcasing her original song “Slow Burn” at a live event in Barrie, ON.

Jewel specializes in piano and vocals, with a growing interest in acoustic guitar. She frequently performs at open mic events in Toronto, sharing both catchy covers and her own original music.

A recent graduate of the University of Waterloo, Jewel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Arts (Music) and Business. With aspirations to pursue a career in the music industry, she remains deeply passionate about music composition.
